Inter midfielder Roberto Gagliardini reflected upon the 2019/20 season in a post on his Instagram page yesterday.

The 26-year-old Italian midfielder, who is contracted to the Nerazzurri until 2023, initially struggled to get consistent playing time under coach Antonio Conte but proved important when the squad suffered an injury crisis in midfield.

He played 78 minutes in the Europa League final against Sevilla in the Nerazzurri’s 2-1 defeat, showing Conte’s confidence in him.

Gagliardini posted photos from the season alongside the caption: “A season ends in which we have shown that we can fight head-on on every pitch!

“I’m proud to be part of this squad, and although the end was not as we would have liked, I’m sure it will be a further incentive to try again in the future because it’s not important how many times you fall, but how many times you fall and get up.”
