Lionel Messi has informed Barcelona that he would like to leave the club according to a report from the online edition of Argentine broadcaster TyC Sports.

A report in the media earlier on today suggested Messi was just hours away from telling Barcelona what he intends to do with regard to his future, and as per this report, he has now communicated to the Blaugrana club that he wishes to move on via fax.

Messi, who has spent the entirety of his professional career with Barcelona, intends to take advantage of a clause in his contract which enables himself to free himself from his contract ahead of the 2020/21 season.

Manchester City, Inter, clubs in MLS and his boyhood club Newells Old Boys are all said to be interested in adding Messi to their ranks in this report with other reports elsewhere in the media having said Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain are interested too.
