Italian football journalist Fabrizio Biasin has shared his belief that Inter manager Antonio Conte is fearful of being able to replicate and better this season’s results next season without Inter spending big on the transfer market.

Conte’s future is right up in the air due to several recent public outbursts and media speculation regarding possible replacements is absolutely rife at the moment.

The former Italian national team manager, who joined Inter on a three year contract ahead of the 2019/20 campaign, is due to meet with Inter president Steven Zhang to discuss the current situation and his future in charge of the club.

In an interview with Italian radio station Radio Sportiva, yesterday afternoon, Biasin explained that the way Conte turns up at the meeting will largely determine the outcome of it.

“Either tomorrow Conte takes a step towards the club, but it is a difficult possibility for how things have turned out, or Inter choose a new path called Massimiliano Allegri , which in addition to that of Inter also has a proposal from PSG,” he began.

“If Conte makes requests beyond logic then it is because he wants to break up, if he arrives proactively it is another matter.

“The owners did not take certain utterances and their timing well, because the intent is to do more and more. In my opinion, Conte’s real problem is the fear of not being able to uphold these results except in the presence of a super summer market.”

In his first season as manager of Inter, 51-year-old Conte managed the club in 53 matches across all competitions, of which he won 32, drew 12 and lost nine.
