Inter and Atalanta could both start their respective 2020/21 Serie A campaigns a little later according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Il Messaggero.

Due to both clubs playing longer than any of their Serie A counterparts this term due to European commitments, their first two matches may be postponed and recovered at a later date.

By starting at a later date, both clubs would be able to therefore have an appropriate rest and then preparation time for the 2020/21 season following the 2019/20 season, that very nearly lasted an entire calendar year for the pair of them with Inter’s campaign only ending four days ago, 361 days after it started.

As things stand, neither Inter nor Atalanta have officially requested anything with regard to a later start date for their respective seasons but the report from the Rome based news outlet describes the idea as being back in vogue.
