Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi’s former agent Josep Maria Minguella has shared his belief that his former client has already chosen his new club.

Yesterday evening Messi shocked the footballing world when he sent a fax to Barcelona, in which he confirmed his desire to leave the club who he has spent his entire professional career with.

“For me, Messi already has a new team. It’s Inter. In Italy you pay less taxes and that’s why Cristiano Ronaldo is there,” Minguella explained in an interview with Spanish radio station Cadena Cope, earlier on today.

Minguella then went on to share his belief that it is difficult for him to foresee Messi moving to Manchester City despite the familiar faces at the Premier League club: “It seems more difficult to see him in England, although Guardiola and his friend Aguero are at City.”

Inter and Manchester City aside, 33-year-old Messi has also been linked with potential transfers to Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United.

In the recently concluded 2019/20 season, Messi made 44 appearances across all competitions. In his time on the park, which totalled just over 3800 minutes, he scored 31 goals and provided 26 assists for his teammates.
