Inter central defender Alessandro Bastoni has been named in the Italian national team for the first time for the Azzurri’s upcoming fixtures.

The youngster had a first team breakthrough at the Nerazzurri club during the recently concluded 2019/20 season and his great form has been rewarded with a call-up to the Italian national team by national team coach Roberto Mancini.

Bastoni is in fact one of five Inter players who have been included in the Italy squad for their matches with Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Netherlands next month with the games scheduled to take place on September 4 in Firenze and September 7 in Amsterdam respectively.

Wing-backs Cristiano Biraghi and Danilo D’Ambrosio as well as central midfielders Nicolo Barella, Stefano Sensi and Roberto Gagliardini are all also in the Italy team.

Inter transfer target Sandro Tonali is also in the squad as are the likes of former players Leonardo Bonucci and Nicolo Zaniolo.
