Brescia President Massimo Cellino has confirmed that AC Milan are interested in signing young Italian international midfielder Sandro Tonali in an interview aired moments ago on Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, and reported via Gianluca Di Marzio’s homepage.

Cellino stated that the Rossoneri director Paolo Maldini had been in touch with him to discuss a possible transfer for Tonali and that this had been done in a serious and professional manner, whilst refusing to delve any deeper into the matter.

“I appreciate the seriousness shown by Paolo Maldini which confirms the historical seriousness of AC Milan. I wont add anything else so as not to be inappropriate and unreserved.”

With regards to Inter’s interest in the youngster, Cellino confirmed that Inter CEO Beppe Marotta has been in touch several times with him confirming the Nerazzurri’s interest in Tonali.

“Marotta has always confirmed their strong interest in him and I have always avoided negotiating with other clubs, especially foreign ones.”

Cellino continued by stating that due to Inter’s strong interest in the youngster, he has refused to negotiate with clubs outside of Italy, and insisting that whilst he is in no rush to conclude the deal, it is Tonali himself who is the one who is eager to know his future.

“But the boy wants to know what his future holds. So I’m not in a hurry, but he is and that is more than justified.”
