Inter want to sign Chilean international midfielder Arturo Vidal from Barcelona on a free transfer, Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia’s transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio reported on air moments ago.

According to the report, Inter’s strategy is the same as when signing Alexis Sanchez from Manchester United on a free transfer, by first agreeing terms with the player then offering to take him off Barcelona’s wage bill, free of charge.

Furthermore, the report continues, everything is in place for the deal to be concluded given the current situation and it is only a matter of time before the deal is concluded.

Italian broadcaster SportItalia’s transfer market expert Alfredo Pedullá echoes this sentiment adding that Vidal’s name came up recently after Barcelona deemed him surplus to requirements and will only sign the former Juventus man on a free transfer.

Vidal joined Barcelona 2 seasons ago from Bayern Munich and has since then featured 96 times scoring 11 times in the process.
