Inter have initiated contact with Lega Serie A regarding starting their 2020/21 season at a later date according to a report in yesterday’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Tuttosport.

The 2020/21 Serie A season is scheduled to begin on September 19 and Inter would like for their first game of the season to be pushed back to a later date. Inter have not yet submitted a formal request but by pushing the fixture back it will give Inter a full month between the end of the 2019/20 season and start of the 2020/21 season.

Inter could recover the match on Wednesday September 30, three or four days after starting their 2020/21 season on what will be match day two for all other clubs barring the opponents they will face a few days later.

The Serie A schedule for the coming season is due to be announced on September 1 and once it has been announced Inter could make an official request.
