Legendary Inter striker Alessandro Altobelli has shared his thoughts on Roma captain Edin Dzeko possibly moving to Juventus in the coming weeks.

The experienced Bosnia and Herzegovina national team striker has been linked with both Inter and Juventus in recent weeks and Altobelli is of the belief that Dzeko would be a good addition for the reigning Italian champions.

“Edin is a great striker, one of the best around, that is a certainty,” he explained in an interview with Italian daily newspaper Corriere dello Sport, which appeared in yesterday’s print edition of the Rome based news outlet.

“But let me say it, I think he would be more useful to Roma than he would be to Juve. If he were to leave the capital it would be a hard blow for the Giallorossi fans who have always treated him like a king.

“If Juve signed Dzeko they would certainly make a great purchase, even if considering his age he cannot be the man to build around for the future. It is not enough to have just Dybala and Ronaldo to play the Champions League, the league and the Coppa Italia.”

Altobelli proceeded to speak about Inter striker Romelu Lukaku and sang his praises after the Belgian national team striker managed to net 34 goals across all competitions in his debut season with the club.

“Conte wanted him at all costs and seeing him play I undertstand why. Antonio was right, Lukaku is extraordinary. He was the best surprise in Italian football, not only for the goals he scored but attachment to the club, respect for teammates and love for the fans.”

In conclusion Altobelli spoke on the ongoing media speculation linking Barcelona’s Lionel Messi with a potential transfer to Inter after the Argentine told Barcelona of his desire to leave the club earlier this week.

“In March, when we talked about Lautaro Martinez at Barcelona because Messi had requested him, I said ‘Why doesn’t he come here? What a trio they would make with Lukaku.’ Today Inter have a wealthy ownership that even can even afford someone like Messi. I hope my prediction comes true, I still believe in it.”
