Manchester City have a clear advantage over Paris Saint-Germain and Inter in the race to sign Barcelona star Lionel Messi, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Corriere della Sera.
The report details how the Sky Blues are ahead of the pack as they look to secure the 33-year-old Argentine star’s signature this summer, after the player’s request for a transfer. Paris Saint-Germain and Inter haven’t given up and will continue working hard to try and convince the six time Ballon d’Or winner.
The problem is that Barcelona have no intention of letting Messi leave, the report continues, and so his father Jorge will meet with the Catalan club’s president Josep Maria Bartomeu tomorrow to discuss his son’s transfer away, suggesting a payment of compensation. Inter have been dreaming of signing the 33-year-old Argentine star for some time now and are working hard to collect new sponsors in China to fund the deal.
