Barcelona star Lionel Messi seems destined to leave the Catalan side this summer, with Inter’s owners the Suning group coming up with an ambitious strategy to beat out Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City for his signature, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.
The report details how Sheikh Mansour’s Manchester City seems like the club most likely to sign the six-time Ballon d’Or winner, due to the fact that his former mentor Pep Guardiola is currently the head coach of the side and the fact that he is close friends with City talisman Sergio Aguero. A report from Spanish radio broadcaster Radio Catalunya, the Sky Blues would offer Barcelona €100 million plus Bernardo Silva, Gabriel Jesus and Eric Garcia for Messi.
PSG are keen on Messi as well, the report continues, and the presence of close friend Neymar may help to facilitate a deal. Both clubs have the financial backing to complete the deal. Inter have been dreaming of signing Messi for years now and have created an ambitious strategy to secure the player’s signature, by commercially expanding in China and collecting new sponsors that would allow them to sign the 33-year-old Argentine star without violating Financial Fair Play.
