Inter are no longer in pole position to sign Brescia starlet Sandro Tonali, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport.
The report details how the Nerazzurri reached an agreement with the player himself back in April, putting themselves in pole position to secure the player’s signature. The club failed to make a definitive offer for the Italian midfielder as they focused on other targets, giving AC Milan time to return to the table.
The Rossoneri are incredibly keen to sign Tonali, the report continues, and are working hard to secure a deal. Inter offered a deal worth around €35 million for Tonali, a loan deal with an obligation to buy attached. Rivals AC Milan instead offered a loan deal with a buy option attached, but raised the cost of that initial loan to €10 million. Brescia don’t want to earn any less than €25 million from the sale of Tonali, but the Rossoneri believe that they can secure his signature for around €15-20 million, confident that the failure of Inter to secure his signature will force Brescia to accept the cheaper deal
