AC Milan have overtaken Inter in the race to sign Brescia starlet Sandro Tonali after making a more enticing offer than the Nerazzurri’s, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The report details how AC Milan have offered Brescia €10 million, plus a buy option of €25 million, with €3 million in add-ons and a future resale clause of 15%.

This is a more interesting offer than the Nerazzurri’s, who offered Brescia a loan deal with an obligation to buy attached with €35 million in total. Now it no longer seems certain that the 20-year-old Italian will be playing for Inter next season.

One of the reasons that the Nerazzurri have taken a step back from Tonali is because coach Antonio Conte has different priorities in midfield, the report continues.

The 51-year-old Italian coach would prefer to sign Barcelona’s Arturo Vidal or Chelsea’s N’Golo Kante, two experienced players with a history of winning. Tonali is in constant contact with his agent, who has been in talks with both Milanese clubs.
