Zinho Vanheusden’s father Johan Vanheusden has discussed what he feels is best for his son’s footballing future and has revealed that there have been discussions with Inter.

The highly rated Belgian naitonal team player is a product of Inter’s youth academy but was sold to Standard Liege in the Summer of 2019 following a loan spell.

As part of the agreement between the clubs, Inter obtained an option to buy him back in each of the two following Summers.

Multiple reports in the media have stated that Inter have considered taking up the option but as things stand they are yet to do so.

“Staying at Standard is ideal, despite all the rumours and falsehoods that have been said and written,” Vanheusden senior explained in an interview with the online edition of Belgian news outlet La Derniere Heure.

“Our priority has always been to stay at Standard. Good things happen to those who wait. We talked to Inter and they know that Zinho feels more at ease in Sclessin.”

During the recently concluded 2019/20 season, Vanheusden made 28 appearances across all competitions. In his time on the park, which totalled just over 2300 minutes, the 21-year-old scored a total of two goals.
