Inter have decided to pull out of the race to sign Brescia starlet Sandro Tonali, who is now only step away from joining AC Milan, according to a report from Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla earlier today.

The report details how the Nerazzurri previously reached an agreement with the 20-year-old Italian midfielder back in April, but never closed out the deal and left the player hanging in the balance.

AC Milan decided to take advantage of the situation and have swooped in to secure Tonali’s signature. The deal is now only a day or two away from closing, with the transfer being worth €38 million in total.

Inter have communicated their decision to pull out of the deal already to Tonali, another report by Pedulla highlights, with the reason being coach Antonio Conte’s decision to pursue other targets, who are more experienced. The meeting with the club earlier this week confirmed the 51-year-old Italian’s position at the club.
