Chelsea left back Emerson Palmieri’s agent Fernando Garcia discussed the player’s position in London and the interest of Inter in an interview with Italian media outlet FcInter1908 earlier today.

“Is it possible that he will leave Chelsea? Yes, this possibility exists. I have not yet spoken to the club. I can only say that Inter are interested in the player. We will see.”

Despite the fact that Inter are only a step away from signing Roma veteran Aleksandar Kolarov, Emerson could still join the Milanese club.

He would fit the tactical system of coach Antonio Conte and the pair know each other from their time together in London. The signing of former Leicester City left back Ben Chilwell has made it clear that the Italian-Brazilian is no longer needed in the Blues squad and so he is now ready to move elsewhere.

Emerson made 21 appearances across all competitions last season for Frank Lampard’s club, for a total of 1523 minutes.

In that time, he provided one assist, struggling to assert himself under the English coach. He is contracted to the Blues until 2022 and may cost upwards of €20 million.
