Inter midfielder Borja Valero will not retire after his contract expires with the Nerazzurri, with both Spanish and Italian clubs interested in signing him, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Genoa based newspaper Secolo XIX.
The report details how the 35-year-old Spaniard will be a free agent on Tuesday, after his contract expires with the Milanese club.
Parma, Fiorentina and Genoa are all interested in acquiring the former Inter midfielder, with clubs in his native Spain also following closely. Genoa’s interest in the player is less concrete than their competition’s, however.
Genoa midfielder Lasse Schöne plays a similar role to Valero, the report continues, and so he may find little to no play time under coach Rolando Maran.
The 35-year-old featured little for coach Antonio Conte this season, but became an important part of the squad in the season restart, when the squad had to be rotated heavily due to the schedule.
