Inter have accelerated in their attempts to sign Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante, according to a report from Italian media outlet TuttoMercatoWeb yesterday.

The report details how the Nerazzurri backed out of the deal for Brescia starlet Sandro Tonali as coach Antonio Conte wants experienced signings who can help him win immediately.

The 51-year-old Italian tactician has specifically identified the 29-year-old Chelsea midfielder as his top target and the Milanese club are now speeding up in their attempts to secure the player’s signature.

Inter would like to sign Kante on a loan deal with either a option to buy or an obligation to buy, the report continues, on the basis of an annual contract and three more seasons.

In the coming days new contact between the teams will take place, with Kante more than just an idea for the Nerazzurri now. Conte’s meeting with the club last week clearly helped shape their changing transfer market strategy.
