Inter may return to Chelsea’s door to discuss French forward Olivier Giroud, after the Blues’ heavy spending spree, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Turin based newspaper Tuttosport.

The report details how coach Antonio Conte is a big fan of the 33-year-old French striker, who is contracted to the London club until the end of next season.

The player was hardly used by coach Frank Lampard in the first half of the season and seemed destined to join the Nerazzurri in the January transfer window, but the deal fell through as the club focused on signing Christian Eriksen instead.

Despite this, Inter are still interested in Giroud, the report continues, as the player would provide solid backup for striker Romelu Lukaku. Chelsea are investing heavily into their squad this summer and may be happy to give up on the player, giving the Nerazzurri a potential starting spot for negotiations.
