Tottenham want to recoup their £55 million investment on French midfielder Tanguy Ndombele, but Inter are not willing to negotiate at such high figures, according to a report from English tabloid the Daily Express earlier today.

The report details how Nerazzurri coach Antonio Conte is a fan of the 23-year-old midfielder, who has struggled in his first season in the Premier League with Spurs.

The Milanese club have been hoping to send Slovakian defender Milan Skriniar to North London in exchange for Ndombele, but the English club’s high price will not facilitate talks.

Inter want Tottenham to understand that the Coronavirus pandemic has changed players’ values and the size of the transfer market, the report continues, and the Milanese club want to negotiate at a lower price.

The player made 29 appearances across all competitions last season for Spurs, for a total of 1446 minutes. In that time, he scored two goals and provided four assists, struggling to assert himself under Jose Mourinho.
