Lega Calcio have officially announced that the Serie A calendar will be presented on the 2nd September, with the 2020/21 season set to start on the 19th of the same month, according to a report from Italian media outlet FcInterNews earlier today.

The report details how on the 2nd September the season calendar will be unveiled only online due to the Coronavirus pandemic and the new rules regarding social distancing, being available to see on the website, social media accounts and the Lega Serie A YouTube channel.

Inter and Atalanta have both asked for the season start date to be postponed to the 26th September, the report continues, due to their short pre-season thanks to their progression into European competition.

The Nerazzurri in particular only played their last game on the 21st August, less than a month before the restart of the season, when they lost to Spanish side Sevilla in the Europa League final.
