Gabriele ‘Lele’ Oriali is to resume his duties as the Italian national team team manager according to a report in yesterday’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

Oriali is to return to the role which he vacacted last Spring at the express request of Italian national team manager Roberto Mancini and Italian football federation president Gabriele Gravina and he has agreed to a contract which will expire on July 15, 2021.

The report from the Rome based news outlet goes on to state that Inter chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta gave his approval for Oriali to resume his duties with the Italian national team, provided that his priority remains Inter, who he is contracted to for another year.

Oriali has a long-standing relationship with Inter due to being a former player and carrying out various other roles off the field for the club. He took up his current role in the Summer of 2019 when Antonio Conte took charge of Inter.
