Inter have not given up on signing Marash Kumbulla from Hellas Verona according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Tuttosport.

The Nerazzurri club have slowed down in their pursuit but there is no risk of missing out on the Albanian international with Lazio, who were also interested, having dropped their interest in signing him.

Before bringing Kumbulla to the club, Inter plan to raise funds through outgoing transfers. The report from the Turin based news outlet goes on to state that rather than sell Milan Skriniar and have Kumbulla replace him, Diego Godin will be sold and Kumbulla will replace him instead.

Despite Godin’s good end to the season, Inter have doubts about him and whether he can play as a starter for an entire season.

By offloading the Uruguayan, Inter could cover the annual costs of Kumbulla, who they already have an agreement with Hellas Verona over that will include counterparts.
