Milan Skriniar will remain with the club whilst Diego Godin will be moved on according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

For weeks now it has been suggested that Skriniar will be sold in order to raise all important transfer funds whilst Godin will stay having convinced with his performances in the last part of the season but this report states that the roles have been reversed.

One of the reasons for this is because Inter have doubts about whether Godin can be a starter for an entire season whilst Skriniar is only 25-years-old and has all the means to be able to fully adapt to the three man defence.

The report explains that Inter will make a substantial saving by offloading Godin, due to him earning €5.5 million a year and will sign Marash Kumbulla to replace him and serve as the back-up to Skriniar.

Inter have currently put negotiations to sign Kumbulla on hold but unlike with Sandro Tonali, there is no risk of losing out on the player due to the fact Lazio have pulled out. Inter could well offer Eddie Salcedo plus Federico Dimarco as part of a deal for him.
