Former Inter manager Claudio Ranieri has shared his belief that Chelsea’s N’Golo Kante would be an excellent acquistion for Inter.

Kante is reportedly Inter’s number one transfer target for the transfer window with Inter manager Antonio Conte seemingly really keen to be reunited with the Frenchman who he worked with at Chelsea.

Reports have stated that Kante will come far from cheap but Inter chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta is in the process of hatching a plan that could see the 2018 World Cup winner arrive at the Nerazzurri club.

“He would be an excellent acquisition for the Nerazzurri certainly, but absolutely for the Italian league. Kanté is a golden boy, a great professional, who always knows how to put passion and enthusiasm at the team’s disposal,”
Ranieri, who managed Kante at Leicester City explained in an interview with Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, which appeared in yesterday’s print edition.

“On the field he is always moving, he is generous and good at recovering and distributing the ball. He has good qualities, even if he is not a playmaker, but it is very difficult for him to miss a pass because he always plays the role with great attention and concentration.

“It’s true, I once stated that after making a cross he could also run into the box to hit the ball with his head and look for the goal because I wanted to emphasise his athletic strength and his spirit of serving the team. He is a world champion, he would further raise the level of our league.”

During the recently concluded 2019/20 season, 29-year-old Kante made 28 appearances across all competitions to date. In just over 2300 minutes on the field, Kante, who has just under three years left on his deal with Chelsea, provided three assists.
