Inter have reached an agreement with Napoli over goalkeeper Alex Meret according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sport Italia, which was aired a short time ago.

Inter have been looking for a long-term replacement for current number one goalkeeper Samir Handanovic for some time now and look to have found exactly that in Meret.

The two clubs have reached an agreement over the highly rated Italian national team shot-stopper but Meret will not join in this transfer window, nor in the mid-season transfer window but rather next Summer ahead of the 2021/22 season.

The report does not provide any detail on the agreement which has been reached between Inter and Napoli over 23-year-old Meret, who has just under three years left to run on his current contract with the Stadio San Paolo outfit.

In the recently concluded 2019/20 season, Meret made 29 appearances across all competitions, in which he conceded 37 goals and kept a total of seven clean sheets.
