Christian Eriksen has shared his hope that everyone at Inter will start from scratch ahead of the fast approaching 2020/21 season.

“I had a few days off, now I’m in the national team and I still haven’t had any information on what the club will do when I return,” he explained in an interview with the online edition of Danish broadcaster DR Sporten.

“I certainly hope to return and that everyone starts from scratch, then we’ll have to see what the coach really thinks.”

The former Ajax player then went on to speak on how things have changed for him at Inter compared to what it has been like for him at his previous employers.

“I was used to always being a starter, now I’m living in a new situation, you have to work it out and only then look back and see if it was right or wrong. You have to take everything as it comes. I feel I have done my part, overall I was happy with the choice I made to come to Inter and I still am.”

Eriksen then proceeded to discuss the differences that he has noticed between Italian football and English football during the time he has spent in Italy since his January transfer window arrival from Tottenham Hotspur.

“In England they tend to keep the ball more, in Italy there are more moments that decide the game. Often everything is based on stealing the ball and counter attacking, so obviously I had to get used to a different sort of football,” he continued.

“I don’t know if Italian football is better or not, I’ve only been there for six months whilst I had been in England for more than six years, there I had completely adapted. Now I have to do the same in Italy.”

He concluded the interview by speaking on his adaption and his goal for the upcoming season.

“I had a period of adaptation, now I hope to go to the maximum when the new season starts. I feel I have done my part. The Coronavirus certainly wasn’t the best as I was juggling a new culture, a new country and a new football. It has been a special seven months.”

Since his arrival at the club, the 28-year-old has made 26 appearances across all competitions. In just under 1100 minutes on the park, he has scored four goals for the club and also provided three assists for his teammates.
