Inter Vice-President Javier Zanetti has spoke exclusively to Colombian radio station VBAR Caracol earlier today on rumors linking Lautaro Martinez to Barcelona, with his statements reported via Italian media FcInterNews.

The legendary Nerazzurri captain underlined that former Racing Avellanada star Lautaro Martinez was happy at the club and that the club were likewise happy with him and have no plans on parting ways with him.

“Lautaro is very happy with us and we are very happy with him. We wont even take the idea of selling him into consideration.”

Zanetti was then asked about Inter’s dealings on the transfer window which has been the subject of many discussions the past few weeks with the transfer window opening.

“We will analyze closely what type of players we will need to sign. Winning is very difficult, you need time, it doesn’t just happen over night from one day to the next.”

The former Nerazzurri captain was then asked about rumors linking Inter with former Real Madrid and Bayern Munich star James Rodriguez, who is on his way to completing a move to the Premier League to play for former AC Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti at Everton, to which Javier Zanetti  categorically denied that the club had ever been interested in him.

“We have never thought about signing James but this does not mean that he is not a great player, who has a lot of quality and who I’m sure will do well at Everton.”
