The injury that Stefan de Vrij has sustained is nothing too serious according to a report from Italian news agency ANSA.

The Dutch national team player was forced to leave the national team training camp yesterday due to a slight ankle sprain and he will be back in Milan today.

He is scheduled to undergo a physiotherapy situation today and his condition will be assessed by Inter club doctor Piero Volpi tomorrow, when Volpi will also examine the tests that de Vrij was subjected to whilst still with the Dutch national team.

de Vrij, who joined Inter on a free transfer back in 2018 and is under contract until 2023, made 46 appearances across all competitions in the recently concluded 2019/20 season.

The 28-year-old, who formerly played for Lazio and Feyenoord, was on the pitch for just over 3900 minutes during which he scored four goals and provided a total of five assists for his Nerazzurri teammates.
