Former Inter striker Jorge Juary spoke to gathered reporters at a press conference yesterday where he was presenting the Samba do Bellizzi project, discussing Inter and next season’s title race. His words were noted by Italian media outlet FcInterNews.

“The favorite for the Scudetto? I think it remains Juventus, even if Inter with Conte can do really very well. Juve with Cristiano Ronaldo, they are always ahead of everyone, they are stronger, then behind them are Inter and Napoli, but I think it will be a great season and we’ll keep an eye on Atalanta too.”

Inter have been working hard this summer to close the gap with Juventus by recruiting players specifically requested by coach Antonio Conte, in order to build the best possible squad to fight for next season’s league title. The club are working to sign Chilean midfielder Arturo Vidal from Barcelona on a free transfer as well as Roma left back Aleksandar Kolarov in a low-cost deal. The 51-year-old Italian coach values experience and wants a squad ready to compete against the Bianconeri for the Scudetto.

The Nerazzurri finished one point behind Juventus last season, despite suffering from squad depth issues for large parts of the season, showing the incredible growth under the former Chelsea and Italy boss, whose position at the club was confirmed in a meeting last month.
