A report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport has disproven the suggestions that Inter have an aging squad.

The report details how the Nerazzurri’s market strategy changed after the successful meeting with coach Antonio Conte at the end of next season, with the club moving away from young talents like Sandro Tonali and Marash Kumbulla and instead looking to sign Roma’s 34-year-old left back Aleksandar Kolarov, Barcelona’s 33-year-old midfielder Arturo Vidal and Parma’s 30-year-old full back Matteo Darmian.

In reality, around half of the starting squad are under 25 years old, the report continues, with Nicolo Barella, Alessandro Bastoni, Lautaro Martinez, Stefano Sensi, Milan Skriniar and Achraf Hakimi all either 25 or younger. In the 27 to 28-year-old bracket there’s also Romelu Lukaku, Christian Eriksen and Stefan de Vrij, showing that the vast majority of the starting squad is under 28. In the squad are also five players born after 2000, with players like Sebastiano Esposito and Lucien Agoume part of the club’s future plans.
