Tottenham president Daniel Levy told Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen that he didn’t want to lose the player in the January transfer window, as revealed in the Amazon documentary ‘All or Nothing: Tottenham’. His words were noted by English media outlet Football.London.

“I said to Jose, and I just want to make this clear now, from Tottenham’s viewpoint I’ve always been consistent here, we don’t want you to go. From a financial viewpoint, I’ve always said to you whatever another club is offering we’d do exactly the same, so there can be no doubt in your mind that your reason for leaving isn’t a financial one.”

The 28-year-old Dane signed a four and a half year deal with the Nerazzurri back in the January transfer window, moving in a deal worth €20 million. The player struggled to impress coach Antonio Conte or the fans in his first half-season in Italy, failing to replicate the successes he found in the Premier League with Spurs. Since his arrival in January, Eriksen has made 26 appearances for the Milanese club across all competitions, scoring four goals and providing three assists.

Inter aren’t looking to sell Eriksen in this transfer window and believe the player can still be an important part of Conte’s project at the club. However, the Nerazzurri would be willing to listen to serious offers for the Dane, as they look to fund further investments into the squad.
