Diego Godin’s annual salary makes a move away from the club complex according to a report from Italian news outlet FCInterNews.it.

Ligue 1 clubs Lyon and Rennes have both shown an interest in signing the Uruguayan national team defender from Inter but his €6 million a year salary represents an obstacle for them both.

Whilst Godin’s immediate future could perhaps end up being away from Inter, his fellow defenders Stefan de Vrij and Alessandro Bastoni will be going absolutely nowhere.

The report goes on to explain that the Dutchman and Italian will both be handed new contracts in the coming weeks by the club.

Inter have already agreed to a deal until end of June 2025 with Bastoni whilst they must have talks with de Vrij’s agent over a contract first.

The report concludes that Milan Skriniar’s future with the club continues to hang in the balance. The Slovakian is not considered essential by manager Antonio Conte but Skriniar is intent on staying with the club.
