Inter defender Danilo D’Ambrosio has sang the praises of Inter teammate Nicolo Barella after his performance for Italy in their 1-0 UEFA Nations League win over the Netherlands last night.

Barella scored the Azzurri’s only goal of the match in Amsterdam as he scored a header on the stroke of half time and the result put Roberto Mancini’s side to the top of UEFA Nations League League A Group 1, which also contains Bosnia and Herzegovina and Poland.

“Nico is a certainty at Inter, I’ve been training with him for two years now and I know the potential he has. He is a player who knows how to manage all the moments in a match,” D’Ambrosio remarked in an interview with Italian broadcaster Rai Sport, following the match at the Johan Cruyff Arena.

Barella is currently one of the highest rated young Italian players out there at the moment and has managed to carry his fine form shown in his first season with Inter into Italy’s recent fixtures.

In the 2019/20 season, the 23-year-old made 41 appearances across all competitions, in which he scored four goals and provided a total of eight assists for his teammates.
