There will be several absentees when Inter begin their preparations for the upcoming season according to a report in yesterday’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

All players away on international duty (Sebastiano Esposito, Eddie Salcedo, Christian Eriksen, Nicolo Barella, Danilo D’Ambrosio, Roberto Gagliardini, Stefano Sensi, Romelu  Lukaku, Milan Skriniar, Marcelo Brozovic and Ivan Perisic) will be absent as will midfielder Joao Mario with the Portuguese midfielder to be absent for family reasons.

Samir Handanovic, Daniele Padelli, Filip Stankovic, Andrea Ranocchia, Stefan de Vrij, Alessandro Bastoni, Diego Godin, Kwadwo Asamoah, Lorenzo Pirola, Antonio Candreva, Lucien Agoumé, Ashley Young, Alexis Sanchez and Lautaro Martinez will all be present to be tested for COVID-19 but will not train.

Only Achraf Hakimi, Ionut Andrei Radu, Radja Nainggolan, Dalbert, Matias Vecino and Georgios Vagiannidis, who all started pre-season training last week, will train today.

Inter’s 2020/21 Serie A season is due to get underway on September 26 with them due to face Fiorentina at San Siro.
