Inter could play one of three systems in the upcoming season according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

Whilst plan A continues to be the 3-5-2 system that Inter used almost every game last season, that plan could change even if the additions of Achraf Hakimi, Aleksandar Kolarov, Arturo Vidal and perhaps N’Golo Kante from Chelsea could make the 3-5-2 system even better.

Inter could go down the route of a 3-4-1-2 system, a system that they trialled for a few games when football returned post-lockdown. Using such a system would allow January transfer window recruit Christian Eriksen to play in his natural position whilst Arturo Vidal, Stefano Sensi and Radja Nainggolan could all also play there.

Conte could always return to the 3-4-2-1 system that he used during his time as manager of Chelsea and he could do this especially if a fourth choice striker does not arrive and Inter end up short up top like they did for lots of last season when Alexis Sanchez got himself injured.
