Inter have rejected Barcelona’s request for compensation for midfielder Arturo Vidal according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

For several days now Vidal has been on the verge of joining Inter but before he can do that he needs to agree to a contract termination with the Blaugrana club, who he is still training with.

Barcelona managed to get a small fee from Sevilla for Ivan Rakitic and would like Inter to give them a fee for Vidal but Inter chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta has been clear that Vidal will only come to Inter if no fee is paid.

The report from the Milan based news outlet goes on to state that Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio met with Inter manager Antonio Conte yesterday at training to reiterare that new signings depend on departurers with Inter currently having 33 players in their squad.
