Inter could bring in Francesco Acerbi to replace Diego Godin according to a report from Italian news outlet TuttoMercatoWeb.

Godin is on the verge of completing a transfer to fellow Serie A side Cagliari and Inter are examining a possible move for Lazio defender Acerbi to replace the veteran Uruguayan, who is set to leave after just a year at the club.

Inter have not made any contact with Lazio nor have they contacted Acerbi’s agents but once Godin’s departure is finalised Inter could make contact with Italian national team player Acerbi.

Acerbi and his representatives are due to meet with Lazio to discuss his future just shortly and the report describes Inter as attentive to potential developments.

Last season Acerbi, who is under contract with Lazio until the end of the 2022/23 season, made 45 appearances across all competitions. In his time on the park he scored two goals and provided as many assists.
