Inter have put their move to sign Parma defender Matteo Darmian on hold for the time being according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

The Nerazzurri have put their pursuit to sign the Italian on hold due to his arrival depending on Diego Godin departing.

Inter do not want to overcrowd the squad anymore than it already is and want Darmian to take the place of Godin but Godin’s high wages are currently an obstacle to him moving elsewhere.

Multiple reports in the media have stated that Inter already have a deal in place with Parma over Darmian, a deal that has been in place for about a year since Darmian joined the Ducali club from Manchester United.

Darmian is capable of playing across the entire defensive backline and in the 2019/20 season he made 34 appearances across all competitions, in which he scored one goal and provided a single assist.
