Uruguayan national team manager Oscar Washington Tabarez has shared his belief that there will be no shortage of offers made for Inter central defender Diego Godin before the transfer window closes at the beginning of next month.
The veteran Uruguayan national team player’s future appears set to be away from Inter with Inter understood to be willing to offload him.
Ligue 1 duo Lyon and Rennes have both been linked with moving for the former Atletico Madrid captain but multiple reports have stated that his annual salary of €6 million a year represents a real obstacle for most clubs, especially in the post-COVID football landscape.
“I read that he was put on the market, I don’t think he will lack offers,” he explained in an interview with Uruguayan radio station Sport 890 late Monday night.
Godin joined Inter on a free transfer last Summer on a three year contract and in his first season with Inter, the 34-year-old made 36 appearances across all competitions, in which he scored two goals and provided one assist.
