Cagliari are examining the feasibility of a deal to sign Inter defender Diego Godin according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia journalist and transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio.

Godin is no longer part of Inter’s plans and Cagliari have asked Inter about the experienced Uruguayan national team centre back.

The 34-year-old earns €5.8 million net a year at Inter and it would be a costly operation for Cagliari if they are to not receieve any help from Inter.

As part of his show CalcioMercato L’Originale late last night, Di Marzio also claimed that versatile Parma defender
Matteo Darmian is Inter bound.

Di Marzio also stated that Inter youngster Lucien Agoume will spend next season out on loan and that he is set to join newly promoted Spezia, where he will be able to play more regularly which will only help him in his development as a player.
