Gladbach Director Max Eberl On Inter Owned Valentino Lazaro: “Pity About His Injury But On Track To Recover”

Borussia Monchengladbach sporting director Max Eberl has revealed that on loan defender Valentino Lazaro is on track with his recovery from injury.

In his first appearance for the club, which came in a friendly soon after joining on a season long loan loan from Inter, Lazaro picked up an injury to his calf.

“It was a pity that Lazaro injured a calf muscle in his first match but we are on track for recovery,” Eberl told German broadcaster Sport1 yesterday afternoon.

Despite not getting to see the best of Lazaro yet, Eberl is convinced that the Bundesliga club are a better team with thanks to him joining and the other signing that they have made, Hannes Wolf.

“We have had three departures, but we have acquired two new players, who have improved our squad.”

Lazaro joined Inter in a circa €20 million deal from Hertha Berlin back in the Summer of 2019. Lazaro was injured soon after joining which left him playing catch-up and he ultimately could not catch-up and cement a place in the team in the first half of the season.

The Austrian national team was then loaned out to Newcastle United for the second half of the season but he continued to struggle for game time.
