Diego Godin has ruled out the possibility of a return to Spain according to a report from the online edition of Spanish news outlet Mundo Deportivo.
The Uruguayan national team player is now considered as being out of Inter’s project and has drawn links to a number of clubs.
He has been linked with moves to Cagliari and Fiorentina within Italy and Villarreal have also been linked with moving for him but Godin does not wish to return to Spain due to his long spell at Atletico Madrid.
Godin only joined Inter in the Summer of 2019 on a free transfer after his deal with Atletico Madrid expired and still has just under two years left to run on his contract with Inter.
In his first – and potentially only – season with Inter, he initially struggled to make it into the team but come the end of the season he got himself in the side. All in all he made 36 appearances across all competitions, in which he scored two goals and tallied one assist.
