Inter have placed attacking midfielder Christian Eriksen on the transfer list according to Italian football journalist Mario Sconcerti.

Eriksen only joined Inter in a circa €20 million deal on a four and a half year contract from Tottenham Hotspur back in January.

The Danish national team player has struggled to perform to expectations for the most part since joining the club.

He has made 26 appearances across all competitions to date. In just under 1100 minutes on the park, Eriksen has scored four goals and provided three assists for his teammates.

“Inter have put Eriksen on the transfer market. It is not news, it is my opinion that comes as a result of the latest choices of the club,” Sconcerti explained in an interview with Italian news outlet CalcioMercato.com.

“For example Nainggolan. If he returns, he joins Vidal and Gagliardini, three will be playing for a single role, four if you include Eriksen. At the moment it is surprising that Inter have only one out of three players, Barella.

“If Vidal comes, Sensi becomes his reserve and the regista’s, while Gagliardini would become Barella’s reserve. Nainggolan and Eriksen are still advancing, not to mention Vecino (whom I would keep) and the various Dalbert or Joao Mario who will leave. Plus Brozovic, until six months ago considered the best regista in Italy and today he is reduced to waste paper.”

Sconcerti then went on to share his belief that it may be easier for Inter to be able to offload Eriksen than it will some of those mentioned above.

Some reports in the media as of late have suggested that Inter could let the 28-year-old former Ajax player depart if they receieve an offer in excess of €50 million.

“I believe that the order to Inter is now to sell! In this team Eriksen can make the most of the fourth striker, but it is not a desired solution.

“In a market where it is difficult to sell, Eriksen is instead more expendable than the others on the international market. Also on loan, as he has a high salary.”
