Some intermediaries have tested the water with Zenit St. Petersburg with regard to signing Inter midfielder Matias Vecino according to a report from Italian news outlet FCInterNews.it.

Inter have placed Vecino on the transfer list and the Uruguayan national team player could leave the Nerazzurri club in the coming weeks.

Russian Premier League giants Zenit St. Petersburg are understood to be looking to add a midfielder to their ranks although this report states that it is unlikely that things will hot up on the Vecino front due to them wanting a playing with more attacking characteristics than those of Vecino.

The report goes on to state that Vecino himself would prefer a move to the Premier League or to La Liga.

Vecino has been with Inter since the Summer of 2017 and is contracted to the club until 2022. Last season the 29-year-old made 25 appearances across all competitions, in which he scored three goals and provided one assist for his teammates.
