Atalanta are interested in signing Inter full back Dalbert, with coach Gian Piero Gasperini already identifying the player as a possible option last year, according to a report from Italian media outlet FcInterNews earlier today.

The report details how the 27-year-old Brazilian spent last season on loan at Fiorentina and impressed, but won’t be returning to Florence because the Nerazzurri are looking to sell him outright this summer, not loan him out.

The player himself wants to stay in Italy, explaining his decision to decline the offers from Turkey and his lack of excitement surrounding the interest from West Ham and Newcastle.

Gasperini likes Dalbert and is interested in signing him, the report continues, but there is one obstacle.

The club need to sell one of Robin Gosens or Arkadiusz Reca, as the department is already fairly busy.

Dalbert appreciates the interest of the Bergamo based club, but no concrete talks are currently ongoing.
