Inter linked Arturo Vidal was not called up for Barcelona’s friendly match against Gimnastic today, ahead of an expected move to the Nerazzurri, according to a report from Italian newspaper La Repubblica earlier today.

The report details how the 33-year-old Chilean midfielder is close to terminating his contract with Barcelona a year early, due to the fact that he is no longer involved in the club’s future plans.

The player’s entourage has been in talks with the Blaugrana for some time now regarding an exit deal, with Vidal requesting €2-3 million in previously unpaid add-ons.

The player has already given up on the last year of his salary, in order to help talks move forward.

Inter are looking to sign Vidal to please coach Antonio Conte and have entered talks, the report continues, in order to help further facilitate a deal.

It remains to be seen if the Nerazzurri will pay a small compensation fee for the Chilean, like Sevilla did for Ivan Rakitic.
