Inter are determined to renew Argentine striker Lautaro Martinez’s contract with the club, despite the constant links to Barcelona, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Turin based newspaper Tuttosport.

The report details how the meeting between Lautaro’s entourage and the Blaugrana’s management didn’t produce the expected results, leaving them in a tough position. Inter have no interest in selling the player, who is still wanted by coach Antonio Conte.

The Catalan club will first have to work on selling players in order to both make space in the squad and to generate funds for a deal, especially considering their current forward options are Messi, Griezmann, Coutinho, Ansu Fati, Dembelè, Braithwaite, Pedri and Trincao.

Barcelona will make one more serious attempt to sign Lautaro, the report continues, and should that fail then Inter will look to renew the 23-year-old’s contract, increasing his wages to €5 million net per season.
