Inter are looking to replace defenders Diego Godin and Andrea Ranocchia with Matteo Darmian and Marash Kumbulla, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The report details how 34-year-old Uruguayan veteran Godin is close to signing for fellow Italian side Cagliari, currently discussing a possible salary with the Rossoblu after the Nerazzurri gave the green light to the deal.

Italian defender Ranocchia, who hardly featured for coach Antonio Conte last season, is also close to making a move to Genoa.

In their place, Inter are set to bring in Parma’s Darmian, the report continues. A gentleman’s agreement took place last summer between the Nerazzurri and the Emilian side regarding a deal this summer and it has never been in doubt.

As for Kumbulla, Inter CEO Beppe Marotta is working to convince Hellas Verona to accept a loan deal with a buy option attached.
